Worship
This is by no means everthing to be said about worship, but a few things that we recognize and value...
Worship blesses God
From the made up songs of toddlers touching their parent’s hearts, to the well crafted songs of romance between lovers, music has a way of stirring our emotions. Our God is no different. Just take a look through the Psalms or if you dare, Song of Songs, and see that poetry is one of the primary languages of our Creator. Each Sunday we make it our ambition to lift Him up with words and melodies we believe will show Him our love for Him and touch His heart. Come to pour out.
Worship blesses us
I know, I know, worship isn’t about me. And “me” shouldn’t be my motivation. But, let’s not swing the pendulum too far and neglect the reality that this connection through music is a two way street…and this is good. May we never become picky worshippers who are funneled into a “my way or the highway” approach to worship. But, may we always come to worship expecting; expecting not just to give, but to receive. He wants to touch our hearts too; to remind us of His deep love for us, His children, and to stir us to action. Don’t miss the opportunity! Come with open hearts.
Worship teaches
Here’s an encouragement… sometime try attending a worship service and try two things during worship: Listen to the music and read the lyrics on the screen. Don’t sing, just soak it in. Meditate on what’s being said. I can easily get so caught up singing that I forget to pay attention to what I’m actually saying. But every time I slow down enough to think about what’s being sung I am impacted and challenged again by some truth in a song. These aren’t just words! They are Biblical truths. Eternal truths that have life changing impact! Come with open ears.
Worship is a lifestyle
It should go without saying, but since it’s referenced multiple times in Scripture, it should probably be said here. I think Jesus sums it up best when He said of a group of people who were being hypocritical, “These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men (Matthew 15:8-9).” Every time I sing a song with “promise making” language, I hope I search my heart with this passage. I don’t ever want to land in that category. However, let’s not avoid singing the songs, let’s surrender our lifestyles to match the lyrics. Leave and live it.
In light of the multiple values of worship, everyone at kingsway has a worship experience each weekend – kids, youth and adults. We'd love to have you come join us!

My hero(es): Perry Graves. He was my mentor and went home to be with the Lord a few years ago.
My greatest love: Jesus. My family. Flowing in the Spirit through worship or discipleship.
If I could have any super power I'd ... have the faith Jesus possessed; the faith to know when to speak heaing and when to keep walking to the next destination.
If I could travel back in time I'd ... walk the earth with Jesus, no doubt!
I'd rather be ... snow skiing with my wife.
My bucket list: (1) Take a trip to Italy with my wife. (2) Hunt elk in the mountains somewhere. (3) Take an Alaskan fishing trip. (4) Record some of the songs I've written that matter most to God's heart and using them to bring healing or to help stir souls to action for his mission.Beau Hamlin 317.272.3405
